About This Product
Overview
This model takes a gothic vampire castle as its theme and is a large-scale architectural scene piece. Suited to Halloween display and to collectors of dark gothic styles.
Design
The castle is made up of towers at different heights, roofed with steep dark spires, with narrow arrow slits in the walls. Grey-black stone dominates, accented with wine red and deep green. battlements, flying buttresses and a bell tower build in layers, with a drawbridge and stone steps at the gate. Bats perch on the tower tops and a round rose window sits in the wall.
Highlights
3,540 pieces create real depth: towers of varying height form a broken skyline, and sloped pieces build the steep gothic roofs. Transparent red pieces appear throughout as candlelight in the windows, giving a faint red glow in low light and a strong atmosphere.
Story
Legends of castles in the Carpathian Mountains are the source of vampire literature, and Bram Stoker's Dracula made such a castle a defining image of gothic culture. The build recreates that gloomy, ornate architectural character in brick.
Details
Several floors can be opened to view the interior. The base is widened to keep the tall towers stable, with a low centre of gravity. Finished size is 45.7 x 30.9 x 45.3 cm — a large piece that can hold a scene on its own.
