About This Product
Overview
Taking the skull as its theme and the hourglass as its form, this model is a desktop piece built around the metaphor of time. Suited to fans of the mystical.
Design
Two glass chambers are joined by skull ornamentation, with transparent pieces standing in for glass. Fine grains fill the chambers. The eye sockets are deep and the teeth evenly set. Grey-white tones keep the piece calm and weighty.
Highlights
The union of skull and hourglass is the core idea, standing for passing time and finite life. Transparent pieces add realism, and the filling of the grains shows off the precision of the build.
Story
The hourglass has symbolised time since antiquity, and the skull stands for death. Together they carry a philosophical charge — living with mortality in view — and a reminder to value the present.
Details
The hourglass structure is stable and sits level. Transparent pieces are precisely joined to suggest glass. The skull ornament is complete with clear detail. Moderate in size, it suits desktop decoration.
