Overview
Inspired by the blood-sample analysis scenes in the TV series Dexter, this model recreates the slide storage box from the forensic lab. It works as film-themed memorabilia, a piece for forensic science enthusiasts, or a distinctive desktop object.
Design
The build reproduces the vintage leather case from the show: a deep brown body with a red-brown checkered top, and gold-toned metal handles, corner guards and hinges. The lid opens upward to reveal numbered slots holding several transparent blood-slide modules, with red pieces standing in for blood samples — the show's signature scene, fully staged.

Story
Taken from Dexter, the box is one of the show's most recognisable objects. The protagonist Dexter Morgan works as a blood-spatter analyst for Miami Metro by day, analysing samples to solve cases, while by night he hunts killers who escaped the law. After each killing he takes a single drop of blood, smears it on a microscope slide, labels it and files it in a small box. The slide box is both a working tool and the hinge between his two lives.
Details
The case is assembled from many panel pieces, giving a rigid structure. The hinge opens smoothly and the slide modules lift out freely. Pieces fit tightly with a satisfying feel. The slides are a uniform size, and the inside of the lid carries blood-sample number labels.
